What a thrilling race this was and for a couple of laps it seemed that everything will go in favor of Fernando Alonso but, at the end Sebastian Vettel did just what he needed to become the youngest Triple World Champion. Here is the exciting first lap at least for Fernando’s fans.
Alonso or Vettel? who has the advantage?
So 2 races remaining and the big question is already out there. Who have the inside line for the remaining two races on the American soil? I will not write 1,000 lines analyzing the circuit’s characteristics and the cars capabilities, because at the end I think we all know who have the inside line, don’t we? Since the Singapore GP Red Bull has shown that is the team to beat in any type of circuits, Adrian Newey has done it once again and unfortunately in this case as in many others the drivers are not the heroes.
However this does not mean that Red Bull team and driver will have an easy ride to their 3rd consecutive championship in these next two races left. Fernando Alonso has backed up his words delivering great results that have kept him in the fight for the title hunt. After the Abu Dhabi gran prix Ferrari’s chairman Luca Montezemolo have urged team principal Stefano Domenicalli to push even harder in order to give Alonso a car capable of winning races.
Although Ferrari may do a final attempt to deliver an improved car, we have seen in the past races how results have not matched even Ferrari’s engineer expectations; therefore we may see that happening again.
In terms of teammates help, I think Fernando may have the advantage on this one. Even though you are supposed to have only one teammate Alonso could well count with the help of former teammate/rival Lewis Hamilton, his own teammate Felipe Massa and even Mark Webber. In Webber’s case I don’t see him directly helping Alonso by letting him through but by impeding Vettel to score as many points as possible.
No matter who wins the championship, this season will go as one of the most competitive in the recent years, and as a fan that is what matters. Fernando and Vettel have now to concentrate even more on their goals and ask the almighty to ship away some much needed good luck, which has proven to be very decisive when it comes to winning races this year.
Formula 1 Grand Prix Belgium 2012 Crash – Onboard Alonso
Although Button and Vettel did a great race, the best news from this event was that Fernando Alonso scaped without serious injuries due to a crash in the first corner. First Grosjean collided with Lewis Hamilton who then collected Alonso and Sergio Perez. Hear the sound of the impact in second 11. Alonso was very lucky to escape without a serious injury from this collition.
And here is another angle
Mark Webber wins the British Gran Prix
Mark Webber drove an outstanding race to take the chequered flag in the 2012 British Gran Prix. Webber started just behind pole sitter Fernando Alonso and attacked him at the end of the race to take 1st place. The Spaniard had a great race as well and showed the big progress that Ferrari have made since the start of the season, but this time, it was the soft compound tyres that didn’t let the Ferrari driver to match Webber’s pace in the final stint. However Alonso felt great at the end of the race because he was able to add 18 points more to his championship aspirations. Read more

Who is going to take Felipe Massa place in 2013?
Much have been said about the 2013 season and the Ferrari team. Right now I think any formula one driver, fan and even detractor of the sport knows that despite all the nice things Ferrari have said about how they care and trust Felipe Masa and how confident they are that he will be up to form once again, Felipe Masa will have to look for another seat for next year’s championship. Of course neither the team and obviously the driver haven’t said anything about this until negotiations are at least 80% done. Now this brings us to the big question who is that driver that will take his place? is it a current formula 1 driver? is he a gp2 driver? is he a nascar driver? nahh just kidding.
The question is yet to be answered, Read more
Lewis Hamilton to drive for Ferrari?
In recently news Ferrari Team principal Stefano Dominicali talked about possible drivers that could be taking Felipe Massa’s seat for the year 2013. Stefano said that for now they hope that Massa keep fithing back to get in form and hope he can deliver better results for next year where his contract will come to an end. If Massa isn’t able to demostrate he can deliver what they are expecting, then is most likely that Ferrari will choose to bring a new and talented driver to the team. Within the drivers that could be replancing Massa Stefano mentioned now 2 times World Champion Sebastian Vettel and also 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton. Read more
